Cousins Lettings and Property Management - One month on...

It only seems like yesterday we were getting ready for our launch in September, now over a month on and things are certainly picking up for us here at Cousins Lettings and Property Management.  We had an overwhelming turnout for the launch and we would like to start by thanking everyone who took the time to join us for the opening.  Since the launch we've had numerous instructions from Landlords and turnaround times to finding a suitable tenant has been extremely quick and stress-free. We believe that service is key to any successful business and as you may well agree, letting a property is considerably stressful for both the landlord and the tenant so having a good, reliable agent is definitely a plus point.

Unfortunately with people not being able to afford deposits for their own properties nowadays, rental properties are in high demand and there are concerns that unaffordable rents will rise in the near future, making it harder for people to afford a suitable home to accommodate their individual needs. Last week Shelter released a report that focuses on the affordability of different areas of the UK.  The report highlights the rise in rental levels over the decade prior to 2007 and suggests that in large parts of the country rental levels are now at a level that makes them unaffordable. The statistics show that in Medway the properties fall under the category of fairly unaffordable, whereas London is classed as extremely unaffordable.

With this in mind, it seems that the rental market will grow rapidly due to high demand so we feel as a fair agent we need to be at the top of our game. We keep the Landlord fully aware of what's happening with their let, keep fees low and reassure tenants that we are not looking to charge a fortune for referencing fee's as we feel that people have enough to pay for these days, especially in these difficult times.
